SoED Discussion Event on Hardwired Global
SoED in LIU Saida was honored to host an interactive discussion event on Rights-Based Education organized by Ms Zeina Dbouk and Saida SoED Assistant Dean. The speaker who led the discussion is Ms Lena Smith, the Hardwired’s Director of International Programs. Hardwired Global is a non-governmental organization at the United Nations that works to promote respect for the dignity and freedom of all people through education. The objective of the program is to provide teachers with tools to lead youth through the process of conceptual change in the way they view the rights and freedoms of others, and ultimately reconcile those ideals with their own beliefs to build more inclusive societies.
The event started as the Assistant Dean briefed the audience on the theme of the meeting and how LIU focuses on the uniqueness of individuals without any regard to race, identity, ability, affiliation or gender. He then welcomed the guests as well as the audience on behalf of the Dean of Education and Saida Directors. Ms Dbouk then took few minutes introducing the guest speaker, followed by 30 minutes speech on Hardwired Global and 30 minutes discussion time.
The event was concluded by deeply thanking the guest speaker for the inspirational speech.
