The Faculty of Art and Sciences department of Computer Science and Information Technology hosted a seminar on Wednesday April 12. The seminar was given by Dr. Ayman Khalil and was attended by students and instructors from various departments. The seminar title was
Our Life with Big Data is not the same!
The availability of massive data collected automatically, especially on the web, by connected sensors and objects is a real revolution: the fourth industrial revolution. The exploitation of these data or Big Data Analytics makes it possible to decide better. The talk presented a panorama of the Big Data uses, its main challenges, without disregarding their risks for the protection of privacy.
To Go Green with Big Data is also an interesting topic. The speaker talked about new methods for reducing energy consumption while maximizing the overall performance of computing devices. The speaker discussed optimization techniques to offer a new scientific tool for a minimized energy and cost savings and of course to contribute to the Green world!
